What to do in Lausanne this weekend? For a city everyone complains is all hills, Lausanne goes out a lot. Between the Flon, Sévelin and the old town, you can chain a gig, a drink and a club night without ever needing a taxi. Here’s our guide, updated with what’s on right now.

Lausanne clubs: where to dance?

MAD, the giant

If you only remember one name, make it this one. MAD has five floors and as many moods: reggaeton to house is just a staircase away. Perfect for a group that can’t agree on the music.

D! Club, the institution

D! Club turns 30 on 19 October 2026, with Grandmaster Flash on the decks (no less). The rest of the year it’s electronic, hip-hop and student nights.

Le Romandie and Folklor

In the Flon, Le Romandie does gigs early and club nights after, with a curious crowd and queer nights. Smaller, Folklor looks after its house and disco nights: you go there for the DJ.

Bars that get lively

Le Bourg

At Rue de Bourg 51, in a former cinema, Le Bourg is a café-theatre that does a bit of everything: gigs, DJ sets, improv, open-mic comedy, debates. Entry is usually CHF 5–20. From the station, bus 1 to Bessières then a five-minute walk.

Chauderon 18

The former No Name, in the basement at Place Chauderon 18: a disco bar with flea-market décor and a stage big enough for gigs. Open Thursday to Saturday from 10 pm (to 4 am on Thursdays, 5 am at weekends), free entry. One Thursday a month it’s Cuban salsa night with a class.

Captain Cook

At Rue Enning 2, Captain Cook has been pouring beers since 1983. Thursdays are “Soirée Super”, rock and cheap pints, and the pub celebrates its 43rd birthday on 23 and 24 October 2026.

La Cave du Bleu Lézard

Under the restaurant of the same name, a vaulted cellar where Asaf Avidan, Eddy de Pretto and Selah Sue played before the big festivals. Gigs, clubbing and, on Wednesdays, comedy or karaoke.

Tips for a night out in Lausanne
