In short: GeNEVERsleep is a free, bilingual nightlife guide for Geneva, Lausanne, Nyon and neighbouring France. Clubs are welcome, from alternative basements to big ticketed nights. What we don’t list: hate, discriminatory door policies, scams and ticket touting.
1. What we list
- Nights out that are open to the public: clubs, DJ bars, gigs, licensed raves and open airs, sound systems, festivals, street parties, balls, karaoke and collective nights.
- Commercial and ticketed nights, as well as free and pay-what-you-can ones. Presale, guest lists or registration are fine as long as anyone can get in.
- Real, confirmed dates with a venue (or an announced meeting point) in the region.
2. What we refuse
- Hate and discrimination: content or artists calling for hatred or violence, racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, sexism, LGBTQIA+phobia, ableism.
- Discriminatory door policies: turning people away because of their origin, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability. A dress code, a minimum age or limited capacity are fine if they are announced and applied to everyone in the same way. Closed-group nights that protect people who face discrimination (queer nights, safer spaces, etc.) are not considered discriminatory.
- Scams: fake events, fake headliners, misleading price or venue info, data harvesting in disguise.
- Ticket touting: resale above face value and links to unauthorised resellers.
- Illegal events (without the required permits), drug promotion, sexually explicit content, private events and advertising that isn’t about a night out.
3. Your commitments as an organiser
- Accurate info: date, time, venue, price and minimum age. You update or delete the night if it changes or is cancelled.
- You have the right to publish the texts and links you post, and you remain responsible for your event (permits, safety, welcoming the public).
- We encourage useful party info: accessibility, public transport and Noctambus access, free water, an awareness or harm-reduction team on site.
4. Accounts and moderation
- Accounts are free, and there is no paid advertising in the listings. You sign in without a password, with an email link.
- The first event from a new account is reviewed by the team. Once your account is approved, your nights go live instantly on your page, and in the listings at the nightly update.
- Every event shows who added it (“Added by”) and a “Report an error” link that anyone can use.
- We may correct, hide or delete an event, or suspend an account that breaks this charter. In clear cases of abuse, this happens without notice. To contest a decision: [email protected].
5. Personal data
- Your email is only used to sign in and for service messages. It is never displayed or sold.
- Your profile (name, city, description, links) and your published events are public.
- You can delete your account at any time from the organiser space. Your events are then deleted too.
This charter may change. Existing accounts will be told about important changes.
